submitted by pimpinuncdub on Saturday, July 8 at 2:27 AM
Expressions of Greenville will be hosting the first of several shows for the RiverRock Benefit Series on July 22nd. The doors of Red Rooster Tavern, at 122 East 5th Street, will open at 9PM for the show, consisting of three local bands, that starts at 10PM to raise funding for The Greenville RiverRock Festival, a 10-hour music event with 8 local bands and booths promoting local businesses. The benefit will have a $5 cover charge and offers a 50/50 raffle drawing. Proceeds from cover and raffle will be used to fund the RiverRock Festival.
The Greenville RiverRock Festival, organized by The Axis of Stevil, a local Creative Consultation Firm, is an attempt to unite Greenville and surrounding communities through its music, art and industry. The event, being held on September 9th, 2006 at the Greenville Toyota Amphitheater on First Street, is a free event and aims to appeal to all walks to life. Since the festival is free to the public, funding is needed to pay for its costs.
All proceeds from merchandise and sponsorship benefit The Magnolia Arts Center, Greenvilles only comprehensive Arts Organization.

Halloween Costume Contest
submitted by Evroccck on Monday, October 24 at 3:57 PM
I know this is a bit late, but you should have known it was coming! Its time for the 2005 CampusBlender Halloween Contest! It's the usual drill: whore yourself up in a costume, take a picture of it, and send it to Partyincollege@gmail.com Take pictures of your friends' costumes as well and submit them also. There are no requirements, just email your picture and a brief description of your costume, your username, and if you'd like your name associated with the picture or just be anonymous. Prizes are too be determined.
I'll give you up until Nov. 5th for submissions, then I'll post the worthy ones in a thread in The Party.
One Guy and One Girl will win. The winner will be determined probably by Joe and I. We may have a vote or may just use the costume that gets the most attention. FYI For the girls, sexier costumes usually have a better chance of winning. Guys, we will tend to lean towards funny and/or creative for yours.Prizes are too be determined. We are looking to get a couple of ipod shuffles from one of our sponsors, but no promises. If anyone knows of a business that would like to donate a prize, let us know and we'll get them some free publicity.
Tricks or Treats!

Consolidate your Student Loans NOW!!!
submitted by Evroccck on Monday, June 27 at 10:16 PM
Interest rates on federal student loans will increase by 1.93 percentage points effective this July 1. The new variable rate on federal Stafford loans issued after July 1998 will increase to 4.70 percent for in-school and grace customers and 5.30 percent for customers currently in repayment. The rate on Parent Plus loans issued after July 1998 will increase to 6.10 percent. This increase will mean higher interest payments for you. Act Now and complete your application online before June 30, 2005 to lock in today’s historic rates as they may never be this low again. I will add some links for places that can help you with this process online to make it easier on you:
NextStudent.com - No cost student loan consolidation Educational Loan Company - 1.375% Fixed Student Loan Consolidation. Reduce Payments by 70%.
There are many other Loan companies out there, and you can even call up your current provider and they should be able to consolidate you quickly over the phone. Evan if you are still in school, taking 20 minutes to consolidate your loans can save you tens of thousands of dollars, do not delay!
